Our Mission: To Encourage, Develop, and Support Women in the Creation of Music

The creation of music enriches community connectivity and is therapeutic for both the mind and body. Female musicians of all levels of expertise experience a variety of obstacles that deter musical paths decreases the quality of life and prevents too much music from being created. Musical Mamas Society was founded to provide a grassroots gateway for all musical people identifying as women of all ages, styles, and levels of skill to have safe, supported opportunities and secure space to create, record, perform and advance their individual musical journeys, fortified with positive peer support and self-led learning.

Founded in Edmonton on April 2014, by Sinder Sparks (Csparksfly Productions), our first Society Board was finalized on November 28th of 2016.  Musical Mamas Society produces an annual compilation CD and provides free Singer Song Writer Support Group Meetings from September to May with a break in December.  Current meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7-9 pm In Edmonton, Alberta. At Spruce Avenue Hall 10240-115 Ave.

The Musical Mamas Society has grown significantly since the first gathering in April 2014! We have produced 32 singer-songwriter support group meetings, established sponsored meeting space at the Boyle Street Plaza (ECLF), grown to 48 members, and provided 12 stage opportunities to perform publicly (including the two-day Musical Mamas Showcase featured at Sasquatch Gathering 2017), and established an Annual CD Compilation Project. Musical Mamas launched Volume 1 in November 2017, with Volume 2 set to launch in March 2018!
